I appreciate that this ad has been doing the rounds for a while now, but only after noticing that it's getting glorious reviews on blog after blog, Tweet after Tweet do I feel the need to comment. And I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I don't actually rate it.
Just because it's had an obscene amount of money thrown at it doesn't make it great in my opinion.
It's not a new formula - just take an already established, much loved cult film scene or scenario, pay a fortune to get the rights to mess with it. Then get loads of already established, much loved pop culture celebs, saying and doing things they're already famous for in the context of the scene, or in some cases, doing the opposite of what they're famous for. The more unlikely the stars the better. And there you go; everyone will be falling over themselves to cream their pants over your ad.
Don't bother with an idea. You won't need it. Just throw loads of money at it, yeah? Like, tons of money.
