The Bear suit was Troy's first invention, after an encounter with a grizzly bear he became obsessed with the animals, learning everything he could about them. After a showing of the film Robocop he struck on an idea, a protective suit that would allow a human to survive an attck by a bear.
He invested over $15,000 into creating his suit and finally came up with something he was happy with. He proceeded to prove its success by using himself as a guinea bear and being attacked by a bear whilst wearing the suit.
It was a success, but just to prove it some more and possibly gain some much deserved publicity he went on to survive a direct impact with a BMW and being thrown down an escarpment"
